The Siege at Khe Sanh

In 1968 6,000 Marines were surrounded by 40,000 North Vietnamese soldiers in a place called Khe Sanh, Vietnam.

Just after midnight on January 21, 1968, Hills 861 and 881 south were attacked.

When the sun came up on the morning of the 21st, the Khe Sanh combat base was attacked with a barrage of rockets, artillery, and mortars.

Thus, began the 77-day Siege at Khe Sanh.

Dennis Mannion was there and tells the story of how he survived.
