Southern Ohio Forest Rally Challenges BRCC Team Through the Dappled Forest Light
The BRCC Rally team gathered for 114 competition miles, 219 total miles, of adventure through the southern Ohio forests. For the first time, the Southern Ohio Forest Rally (SOFR) was extended into a three-day event. The 2022 SOFR featured 78 competitors, with 34 of them battling for overall and class wins in the national event. Though Brandon Semenuk was unable to finish the weekend due to a broken wishbone, Travis Pastrana’s other competition, Ken Block, won 13 out of 19 stages. But Pastrana came through with a power stage win, earning him American Rally Association championship points.
The BRCC team was small for this event with Travis Pastrana, Rhianon Gelsomino, and Dave Carapetyan repping Black Rifle Coffee Company. Missing was Tom Williams, who used SOFR as one of his drop scores, as only six events count in the nine-round championship. Currently, Williams is third overall and first in class. (The lowest three scores for each driver are eliminated when calculating their place in the championship.)

“Wild rally. If you like driving, check out a few of the in car highlights / close calls from the weekend,” Pastrana posted on Facebook. “We won the power stage and left with the American Rally Association points lead but Ken Block has been on a roll lately and we will have to find some speed and get some overall wins if we hope to win this championship.”
Unfortunately, the BRCC team had only one driver complete the rally, as Carapetyan in the LN4 class retired from the race on the second day.

The race results for the entire team were as follows:
Travis Pastrana: second overall and second in class O4WD
Dave Carapetyan: DNF
Mike Glover, Tom Williams, and Bucky Lasek didn’t compete.
Where to find the team next: The whole team will be reunited at the end of July when they head to the New England Forest Rally, July 30-31.
