Spartan's militaristic-style races have seen more than 7 million participants successfully cross the finish line after pushing their bodies and minds to the limit through unforgiving terrain and signature obstacles.
Race events include challenging distances for fitness buffs of all skill levels. These include a 5K, 20-obstacle "Sprint"; 10K, 25-obstacle "Super"; and 21K, 30-obstacle "Beast." When a competitor completes one of each in one race season, he earns the coveted "Trifecta" medal.
All races are timed and feature “Elite,” “Competitive,” and “Open” heats, along with Spartan Kids races designed to challenge youths, ages four to 14, with obstacles and trails.

This month, BRCC sponsored its second of the 10 sponsored races, this one in San Luis Obispo, California. 5,870 Spartan racers of all age and ability levels took part in this two-day festival, which included a brutal 50K, a half marathon, and a 10K endurance course. Participants were privileged with the many beautiful sights of the Los Padres National Forest, including endless rows of growing grapevines and towering trees alongside each of the races.

"There are things on a Spartan course that are the same every time, and then things change race to race," Mary Weissler, race project manager at Spartan, said. "The fact that our Spartan team can come out here, look at these vineyards in Santa Margarita, and put on a race of this magnitude at this venue is unbelievable.”

“Getting to work with the sponsors at this race and watch the positive engagement with our racers and fans; we are so happy to witness the level of commitment these sponsors have to represent the Spartan brand," Weissler said.

Black Rifle Coffee Company had an impressive multi-tent display at the race, with free hot and cold coffee available to all in attendance. Free BRCC stickers, outdoor games, and two unique photo walls were available for racers and fans to enjoy throughout the weekend. And, of course, BRCC staff were on hand all weekend to answer any of your coffee-related questions.
