The 2022 Method Race Wheels “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno (otherwise known as the 2022 Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno) kicked off with a new qualifying format. Racers started side by side on a 3-mile split-lane course, regardless of class, to individually battle the clock for their race-day starting positions. This historic race was initially a motorcycle-only race until 27 years ago, when Casey Folks added cars, trucks, and quads to the lineup. Baldwin has been competing as part of the the Trick Truck class.
In the seventh race of the season, BJ Baldwin landed in 16th in his class after completing the time trials in 3 hours and 33 minutes. The 495-mile race was held on Friday, Aug. 12, and Baldwin’s No. 97 truck finished 9th in class and 18th overall.
